You Are Truly Beautiful!

If you are goal oriented and driven like me, you may find that you are busy focusing on where you want to be and how many checks you have not marked on your to-do list. It is easy to get wrapped up in what you have yet to accomplish and to feel limited in your reaches of daily and long-term goals.

But alas, “Ah, there you are. You’re beautiful!”… Take a breath. Write down, take a moment to notice, or share with a friend all the personal victories you have accomplished as of late. They can be big or small – simple as waking up with a smile or eating breakfast every day. Noticing the victories along the way and honoring your beautiful accomplishments help set the tone for even more success.

Intention Setting

ALLOW YOUR INNER VALUES TO ALLIGN WITH YOUR WORLDLY ACTIONS

Set an intention for your day. Write it down and carry it in your pocket or stick it somewhere you can look at it to serve as a reminder. As your day goes on, ask yourself if you are being true to your intentions. If you are not, simply do your best to reconnect to your intention. Allowing this cycle of inquiry and effort to be nonjudgemental brings you closer to expanding your authenticity.





Morning Mantra

Ask yourself, how do you start your day? What are the first thoughts and sensations running through your body and mind as you wake up?

“YEAH! It’s a new day!”  This simple morning mantra has stuck with me ever since freshmen year of college.  My lovely roommate Liz started this tradition as a way to begin each day with a positive vibration.  Our 5am alarm went off Monday through Saturday – a signal to get up, head to the pool, and get ready for 3-5 hours of the most physically demanding practice we had ever experienced. While we were sometimes half asleep, groggy, and overexerted, the ring of this mantra as a daily routine was an inspiring way to zoom out and see the freshness and beauty of each new day.

Try it: Create your own mantra.  It can be simple, celebratory, and variable day to day. Make it a morning ritual to whisper or exclaim these words out loud, then take a deep breath.  Notice how you feel as you start your day off exuding internal brightness.
